Or, maybe you have spent some time playing around with the software and images in Cricut Access and are ready to go to the next level by uploading your custom SVG designs. What is an SVG File?

You may have seen the graphics on Pinterest, Google, or other websites. Designs are fun (and often free), but what is an SVG file?

SVG file stands for Scalable Vector Graphic, and it is the preferred file format for working with Design Space and other cutting machine/design software. There are many technical reasons why SVG is the best file for the project, but simply put, they are the easiest to work with on your machine.

Steps To Upload SVG Files To Cricut Design Space on Computer

In order to upload SVG files to Cricut Design Space on your computer, kindly follow the steps given below:

  1. First, open your Cricut Design Space on your computer (create an account and download the software(App) if you’re using it for the first time). You’ll see an “Upload” icon in the lower-left corner of your screen. Tap on the Upload icon to start the SVG file uploading process.

  1. Next, a new screen will appear displaying recently uploaded images. Tap the “Upload Image” button in the upper left corner of your screen to upload a new file.

  1. After that, tap “Browse” to choose your file from the computer or just drag and drop your file from the Computer folder into the window.

Note: In a folder on your computer, SVG files may appear with the icon from the web browser- don’t worry, it’s normal!

  1. Then, your next screen will give you a preview image of SVG. Give your image a name and add tags you want (for example, this file could be tagged with “hearts, valentines, etc. images). Tap the green “Save” button in your lower right corner.

Steps To Upload SVG Files To Cricut Design Space on Android and IOS Devices

Create a new user account if you have not yet installed the Cricut Design Space app on your Android device. In order to upload SVG files to Cricut Design Space on your Android and IOS devices, kindly follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. First, open your Cricut Design Space app, and tap the big blue “New Project” box in your top left corner.

  1. Next, tap on the “Upload” icon in your lower left corner of the bottom menu, and your Upload Image menu will pop up, as displayed above. Tap “Browse Files” and choose your SVG file from the right location on your smartphone or tablet.

  1. After that, a preview of your file will appear in the center of the screen. Name your image and save your file.

  1. Now, your file will appear in the Uploaded Images panel. Just choose your file (a green box will appear around your image) and tap the “Insert” button in your lower right corner.
